Five More Free or Near Free Tools for Keyword Research on Social Media

Recently, I blogged about how to do keyword research on social media.

The article was well received (Thanks to all!) and some readers asked me if there are other keyword research tools that simpler to use, complement the primary ones, and are either free or affordable.

There are!

I’ve listed five (5) of these free or near free tools below. (I’ve linked to the pricing page where applicable as prices can change over time.)

Here they are:

#RiteTag

Gives hashtag suggestions for images and texts. A great tool to use with Instagram and Pinterest. Has a seven (7) day free trial and costs $49 PA after that for a basic account.

Keywords Everywhere

A free Chrome/Firefox extension which will give you Google keyword search volumes, cost per click (CPC), and competitive data on multiple competitive sites. Helpful for locating long-tail phrases with applicable and accurate search volumes, CPC, and competitive data.

Wordtracker Scout

A free Chrome extension which has its own database of keyword data to draw on. Analyzes competitors’ websites for keywords. Supplies keyword metrics. Shows keyword matching with page elements.

Suggestion Keyword Finder

A free, simple tool to search for keywords and keyword phrases.

Keyword In

A free, simple tool with some basic search differentiators to search for keywords and keyword phrases.

These tools can assist you as you build your lists of primary and secondary keywords for social media campaigns.

Experimentation with them and their various features is recommended.

Of course, don’t forget to use the 800 pound gorilla in the room, Google Adwords Keyword Planner.
