I had an idea the other day!
Yes, I know this in and of itself can be a dangerous pastime for me according to long suffering family and friends. (Not to worry, no one will be outed. I can’t afford to lose the few I have left.)
At the risk of sounding metaphysical (When was the last time you saw that word in article about social media, huh?) I want to discuss karma and social media.
Wikipedia defines karma as “the spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect).” (Wikipedia actually says a lot more about karma but this is the part that’s relevant for us.)
Karma applies to social media for this reason.
We create profiles in social media (Don’t worry, I’m not going to go much further with this analogy.) then what do we do with them?
Some of us engage with them and some, actually many, don’t engage with them.
Without engagement in social media we have nothing.
At a minimum we should be doing the following on social media to engage:
- Liking the content of others
- Sharing the content of others
- Commenting on the content of others.
Doing the following would be better:
- Actively growing your connections on social media
- Publishing your own original content on social media
- Having a blog!
Best yet is having an active and effective social media program!
In life, whether with social media or how you deal with with others, what goes around comes around!
You’re only going to get out of social media what you put into it!
Start thinking about it and then do something about it!
I’m always willing to help you out with your social media program!
That’s it for now!
In the meantime, thank you for following and reading my blog!
