I always enjoy asking prospective clients this question!
The usual answers run along the following lines:
Nothing. (These folks tend to be angry.)
I don’t know. (These folks tend to be embarrassed.)
It can do something for me? (These folks invariably end up being my clients.)
Let’s discuss this!
Believe it or not social media can do something for you!
The trick is knowing what you want it to do for you!
Why are considering using social media in the first place?
(If it’s to post cute pictures of kittens then I recommend that you stop reading now. You’ve discovered what you ant and you don’t need me.)
There are a variety of reasons for wanting to use social media for business:
- Developing leads
- Selling things
- Branding
- Developing a reputation as a subject matter expert (SME) or as an influencer.
The next trick (There’s always a next trick, trust me!) is crafting the appropriate message.
What resonates with your audience?
What are the keywords that they’re using?
What’s trending in their space?
(See my point now about why the cute kitten pictures don’t work?)
If you want to get something out of social media then you have to have a reason for being there!
Then find the others who share that reason for being there.
All you need to do next is to execute diligently!
Trust me on this, try it!
That’s it for now!

Also, never forget to reach out to either ask questions or to ask for help from someone like myself!
