Do You Really Know Who’s in Your Social Media Community?

You’ve built a pretty decent sized community on social media.

People even follow or connect with you of their own accord.

But, do you really know whom this people are, I mean really know them?

Let’s discuss this!

How did the members of your social community find you?

Did you initiate the contact? If so, then why? (I always have questions!)

Did you just willy-nilly add people in the hopes that they would follow you back?

For reasons unknown to you, they simply wandered in out of the Metaverse to follow you.

Or, did you have an actual plan? (See where I’m going with this?)

However they arrived, they’re now in your community.

Now, would be a good time to see why they’re still hanging around, if not why they came in the first place.

You may ask, how do you do this?

I’ll tell you, it’s simple.

So simple, I’m not even going to charge you.

You ask them!

Yes, you ask them.

You can do this in any number of ways.

Surveys, one-on-one interactions on a social media channel, or a group request.

However, you want to do it, just do it!

Doing this is a great step towards engagement with your community and you’ll learn a lot about many of your followers.

Next, compare what you know about your mystery followers to your ideal client persona.

You do have one right?

That list of the key characteristics of the folks whom you’d really like to have in your community?

Not to worry, we’ll talk more about ideal client personas in the future!

But, for now, have a conversation with your community about whom they are and why they’re there with you.

You’ll learn a lot and possible come across some new opportunities!

Plus, your community will really appreciate your taking the trouble to do so!

That’s it for now!
