A common problem I encounter with many prospective clients is that they’re still not using social media.
Usually, these folks generally fall into two groups.
They either don’t know where to begin or don’t believe in it.
(Fortunately, I don’t get too many of the latter!)
And, this is with all the evidence that social media is real and here to stay:
Advertising dollars are moving from traditional media to social media.
Billions of people are on social media and are using it daily.
Let’s discuss this!
The Great Reluctance (#thegreatreluctance, feel free to use it!) as I call it is real and only human.
There are reasons and excuses: time, money, and/or complexity.
The fear of something new or will it last.
(Yes, hula hoops didn’t last but ball point pens are here to stay.)
As I continually tell prospects, they have to get over it.
Social media is here to stay.
Yes, the players may change but the game is the same.
Your competitors are using it.
Your industry and trade associations are using it.
Your clients expect it.
If you’re not on social media then you just don’t exist for them.
I encourage all businesses and professionals to be on social media actively.
I mean to really be on social media!
Let your communities know that you’re alive.
Don’t have them using social media to look for your obituary.
Trust me, you’ll be glad that you did!
That’s it for now!
Please check-out my 8 step approach for developing a social media program to get some more ideas on how to use social media.
Also, never forget to reach out to either ask questions or to ask for help from someone like myself!
