The lockdown of The Great Pandemic of 2020 that has all of us hunkering down wherever we are makes it tough to stay in touch with people.
I know a few people who, except for a periodic call from me, aren’t even speaking with anyone else.
(No wise cracks please about that being a fate worse than death!)
Others are only staying in touch with their existing small circle of friends via text and social media.
Folks, this isn’t healthy!
Let’s talk about this!
Yes, the world has ground to a halt and things are difficult, but, they’re not impossible.
There’s a little thing called the Internet (Maybe you’ve heard of it?) which can make this whole emergency somewhat more bearable.
Online video conferencing is now the norm.
Networking groups are being set up all over the place.
Some of these activities are purely social, others are for business.
I’ve been making new contacts all across the country since this whole thing began.
And, you can too!
Social media for business has always been about taking the conversation offline for either a phone call or an in person meeting.
The objective is still the same now except that video conferencing is replacing the personal meeting.
Right now, if you’re not on social media then get on social media!
Engage, participate, and create and share content.
There’s no reason to be sitting alone in your room playing solitaire.
Whether socially or commercially, there’s a lot happening out there, become part of it!
Even in rough times like this, there are opportunities.
Go for it!
That’s it for now!
Please check-out my 8 step approach for developing a social media program to get some more ideas on how to use social media.
Also, never forget to reach out to either ask questions or to ask for help from someone like myself!
In the meantime, thank you for following and reading my blog!
